History is always a good teacher of all. The things that were written down were meant to guide the readers so as not to make the same mistakes like the characters in the history. This short sharing is to show how to secure victory according to the bible book of Psalm, chapter 44:1-5.
Psalm 44 begins with a reference to history, the children of Israel averred to the things they've heard from their father about the wonders and power of God. Their fathers took it upon themselves to inform their children of the wondrous works of God in their generation.
We need to give credit to those fathers of that time for taking time to rehearsed in the ears of their children the works that God did in their time. They didn't hide anything from their children of the miracles and signs that they enjoyed during their journeys with God..
There
is a key to victory in the testimony of the children Israel about what God did
for their fathers. In verse 3 we're told that they didn't get the land by:
* Their
own sword
* Neither
did their own arm save them.
Oh! This is a great revelation. And all of us believers should get this understanding that it is not going to be by our own sword or by our own arm.
Then I sent the hornet before you and it drove out the two kings of the Amorites from before you, but not by your sword or your bow. Jos.24:12
If it is going to be by sword the Philistines would have gained the upper hand. Because they have more and better swords than Israel. And in terms of stature they were giants and that put them at a huge advantage over the people of God.
However, with God sword and arm plays no significant roles in the battle of life.
What then
do we need?
*
His right hand
*
His arm
* The light of His countenance.
17 And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand
hath gotten me this wealth.
18 But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that
giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he
sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
19 And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the Lord thy God, and walk after other
gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye
shall surely perish. Deut.8
